Hi folks, thanks for checking in on us. Rebecca here, writing our first post. This is completely out of the norm for Joshua and I so please bear with us as we learn the world of blogging. I thought I would give you a sneak peak into what life looks like for us right now as we prepare to move to the Northwest Territories.
Currently we are working at Camp Mini-Yo-We and helping out in any capacity we can. This past week Joshua has been helping with boat maintenance, and I have been kickin’ around Girls Camp. It is all fun, and we love being back up where our relationship began.
One fun thing going on for us aside from camp life is learning how to live in an airstream. We love our home. Joshua surprised me with a 2001 Safari just a few days after we were married and it has quickly become our beloved first home. We will post pictures of the interior in the near future and update you as we continue to get settled.
Aside from that we are busy packing for Whati. It is a wee bit tricky to pack for a home you have never seen, and on top of that everything needs to be packed such that it can be shipped across the country. Right now we are looking for sufficient outerwear (recess duty at -30 calls for some serious bundling up) and home furnishings.
As we have begun this adventure many friends have shared stories of their family who have done a stint in Northern Canada as well. If you have any advice from your own experience, or some one you know, we welcome it with open arms (or in Joshua’s case, a smile – he isn’t the biggest fan of hugs).
That is all for now, come back again.
PS. In the future there will be more photos, less typing : )
